Join us for the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity’s (OMA&D) virtual annual gala, Celebration, on May 12, 2021.
Registration is open today and will be open through May 10.
As the UW’s signature event to support diversity, Celebration raises funds for Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) scholarships and recognizes the Charles E. Odegaard Award recipient. Our distinguished awardee is Emile Pitre, ‘69, one of the UW’s Black Student Union founders and a longtime staff member in OMA&D.
Pitre will be honored during this year’s virtual gathering, and attendees will be invited to submit words of gratitude and make a gift of support to honor Emile and his impact across the community though an online platform.
Hosted by UW alumna and Emmy-award winning journalist Angela King, the virtual event will include video appearances by UW leadership, a live band, online auction, time for community, and — most importantly — time to hear from EOP students who will share their stories and appreciation for the support of our community in providing scholarship funding.
We look forward to seeing our community come together on May 12!
