Be a World of good

Jordan Drew

Ph.D. student, Electrical & Computer Engineering

Inspired by his love of music, Jordan Drew is working to help people with hearing loss by pairing hearing-aid technology with wearable devices such as headphones. A fellowship from the UW’s Graduate Opportunities & Minority Achievement Program (GO-MAP) is empowering Jordan to follow his passion.

In honoring the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we salute Jordan and GO-MAP, which celebrates 50 years of advancing diversity through graduate education. At the University of Washington, we are proud of this enduring commitment to equitable representation, access and success for graduate students of color.

“Innovative science requires a diverse mindset, with input from people from various backgrounds. That’s what comes to mind when I think about GO-MAP’s motto of ‘Graduate excellence through diversity.’”
