Alumni of color and friends of diversity came home again to take part in OMA&D’s The Weekend, a second annual series of events held in conjunction with UW Homecoming, October 15-16, 2010.

Festivities kicked off with an alumni mixer at Hotel Deca Friday night, an event that included music, dancing, appetizers, and an opportunity to reconnect with UW alumni.
The mixer was a precursor to the big pre-game tailgate and homecoming football game versus Oregon State on Saturday. Alumni and friends joined OMA&D’s tent in The Zone, the UW’s official tailgate area on the East Practice Field of Husky Stadium. Tailgaters enjoyed food and beverages, a front row view of performances by both the UW and Oregon State marching bands and the Husky football team’s walk to the stadium. Former Husky football great Sonny Sixkiller stopped by the tent to visit with fans and help with a raffle that included a Sixkiller-autographed football and gift certificates from local restaurants.

After the tailgating festivities, alumni and friends sat together in the West end zone and watched the thrilling, 35-34, double-overtime Husky win over the Beavers.
