There are four different members that make up the team Success No Less: Berhane Tesfahun, Bethlehem Kebret, Tariq Jabiti and their team captain, Misghana Andemichael. We all take chemistry 152 this winter quarter and the study groups that we have for our similar course have helped us with the coursework for chemistry 152.
First, Berhane is from Khartoum, Sudan and is a freshman. She is interested in majoring in either Molecular and Cellular Biology or Neurobiology. For her leisure time, she likes listening to a cappella and acoustic music. For her post-baccalaureate plans, she plans to get an MD with a specification on infectious diseases or neurobiology.
Second, Bethlehem is from Addis Abeba, Ethiopia and she is a freshman. She is interested in majoring in Biology with a specification on Physiology. For her leisure time, she likes to swim. For her post-baccalaureate plans, she plans to get an MD with a specification on pediatrics.
Third, Tariq is from Lacey, WA and he is a freshman. He is interested in majoring in Biology with no specification. For his leisure time, he likes to listening to R&B music, watching movies, working out and playing football. For his post-baccalaureate plans, he plans to apply to dental school.
Fourth, Misghana is from Lynnwood, WA and she is a freshman. She is interested in majoring in Medical Anthropology and Global Health. For her leisure time, she likes listening to R&B music, watching movies, taking hip-hop dance classes and playing basketball. For her post-baccalaureate plans, she plans to apply to the Medical Scientist Training Program, to get an MD and a PHD with a specification on pathology or immunology.

One day in a college campus very close to home, in a room set in Kane walls, stood a girl in her second year, a second daughter, born on the second day of Enero, her name: Jan Edrozo. It just so happened that on that very day, she heard very good news. Word had spread of an epic Challenge. Through crowds and lectures, it was through her luck that she found 3 others of her year, each sharing the same biological course and in due timing, the spirit of the Challenge. She met Jessica Nawar, a girl driven of bright light bulbs, photography, and piano notes. Together they linked arms with Noemi Correa, a warmhearted character of the Eastern Washington winds. And all three in their searches, at last chanced upon the fourth when they awoke the sleep-loving Boyoung Han, who dreamt of a thousand scribes, seven tennis balls, and kendo. So, in their synchronized strides, they were bound together embarking on a journey towards a common goal. So looking to the sun, they set forth knowing only an inch remains from triumph. Together they will.

Our team is like a family. We are all on the engineering track and have seen each other in many programs such as UW Math Academy, ALVA, and much more. We did not meet until another program called the UW STEM/BRIDGE Institute. After meeting Candy through Yuriana, we all became good friends and found support in each other in classes, engineering events and extracurricular activities. Coming from different backgrounds and parts of Washington, we’ve really helped each other learn about different perspectives. When finding a team, I knew that there would no greater team.
YURIANA GARCIA
Mi nombre es Yuriana Garcia. My name is Yuriana Garcia and I am originally from Mexico. I moved to the United States, the land of the free, when I was eight years old. My adolescent years were spent in Eastern Washington, where I lived with my parents and three young brothers. One day, I hope to have a biomedical engineering degree and work in the healthcare industry by bringing new innovations to treat mortal diseases. From my education and work I will then be able to offer my parents and brothers the brighter future we came after ten years ago.
CANDY PERAZA
My name is Candelario Peraza, Im a freshmen at the UW. I’m from the small town of Royal City, in the heart of the state of Washington. I spend my summers working on my parents peach orchard, and enjoy the summer time heat. Im first generation to attend college, and look forward to what it has to offer. I plan on majoring in Aero/Astro Engineering, with a minor in math.
JEREMY PEREZ
My name is Jeremy Perez. I grew up in Seattle, Washington and because of that I knew that I was very fortunate to grow up in a city so diverse and full of opportunities. I went to Foster High School in Tukwila, WA, which was named the most diverse school in the nation in 2009. I hope to graduate from the University of Washington with a degree in Engineering and also give back to my community by going to graduate school to pursue masters in education. GO HUSKIES!
MUNIR IBRAHIM
My name is Munir Ibrahim. I am from Somalia and attended West Seattle High School. After attending the UW Math Academy and UW STEM/BRIDGE Institute, I realized that there would be nothing else I would rather do. I want to graduate the University of Washington in chemical engineering, specifically in fossil fuels.
GEOVANNI SALAS
Hey guys, I’m Geovanni Salas. I’m a freshman hoping to pursue a degree as a civil engineer so I can later go back to Guam, to help rebuild their infrastructure. My home resides in Tacoma for now; I am a graduate of Mount Tahoma High School.

Unidas Con un Propósito is a group consisting of five girls: Irene Mendoza, Laurie Bazán, Alexis Brendible, Erica Chavez and Yesenia Rosales. Our goal is not only to win this challenge but also to encourage and help each other pursuit academic achievement. We are of Hispanic and Native American descent, however; our differences bind us together as we advance to success.
