Move-out Resources

Prepping for Spring Quarter

Review and read!

  1. Preparing to move out is all about the planning. Plan ahead! Huskies living in the Residence Halls have to schedule part of the checkout process with their RA’s. Be sure that your Husky reviews and follows the Residence Hall checkout process.
  2. Student Legal Services is available for your Husky to access as a free resource for Roommate Agreements and Rental/Lease Reviews.
  3. Take home items on or before Spring Break and prepare to SCRAM (Student Cleanup, Recycle and Move-out)
  4. Storage is often the last thing to think about during the move-out process, when the big focus is on housing, what’s next, and of course coordinating with roommates. Students and families that have had the best experiences have sought out storage facilities that have the following criteria to house their items:
      •     Better Business Bureau (BBB) Rating: A+
      •     Affordability and proximity to campus
      •     Climate-controlled units and pest controlled units
      •     Elevators access and late night access

Pricing can vary based on unit size, the time of year, and the specific location. It’s always a good idea to check directly with the storage providers for the most up-to-date rates and information.
