Where you live affects how you live
David de la Cruz (pictured) is a recent graduate of the UW’s College of Built Environments’ master of landscape architecture program who has a passion for environmental justice.
He grew up in Pueblo del Rio, a public housing project in South Central Los Angeles. South Central LA is the industrial center of the city, with some of the most polluted air in the nation.
He is now returning to the South Central LA community that raised him to collaborate with locals to help address the community’s most urgent threats: pollution, gentrification and displacement.
