On March 12th, representatives from the Office of State Relations, UW Medicine, and Policy, Planning & State Operations shared insights on the legislative session. The state revenue forecast comes out on March 18, 2025, which will play a significant role in determining where the budget writers are for the upcoming biennium. The first round of budget proposals will likely be coming out soon and may begin with proposals focused solely on cuts, with new revenue options introduced later. It seems that no cuts are being ruled out, including furloughs, but more will be known when the first budget proposals are released.
