Bridging and Belonging: A Facilitated Practice Workshop for New Facilitators
- Date: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025
- Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm
- Location: School of Social Work, Room 230, UW Seattle Campus
- Format: In-person only (limited to the first 15 faculty/staff who register)
- Light refreshments provided; registration open until filled
Lead Facilitators:
- Leslie Fouche, School of Social Work
- David Drew, UW Medicine
This facilitated workshop is designed to provide an experiential learning opportunity for new facilitators. This interactive session will introduce foundational concepts and practical tools to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and antiracism in our communities and workplaces.
This workshop is unique in that it is also a training space for new facilitators to gain hands-on experience. By joining, you’ll not only engage in meaningful discussions but also support the learning and development of emerging facilitators as they grow in their practice. All experience levels are welcome, and we encourage faculty and staff to attend to help create a rich, supportive learning environment.
Our co-facilitators, Leslie Fouche and David Drew, are participants in a pilot facilitation training program that began in the 2023-24 academic year. This session will allow them to apply their skills in leading conversations on race/racism, identity, intersectionality, and collective responsibility in dismantling racism.
This free workshop is open to all UW faculty and staff, with a capacity of 15 participants.
We appreciate your support in nurturing new facilitators and look forward to growing this practice together!
Save the date! Our next workshop is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Details to follow.
