David Zeeck
Zeeck is the retired president and publisher of The (Tacoma) News Tribune, The Olympian and The Bellingham Herald media companies.
Before being named publisher, he served as the executive editor at The News Tribune for 14 years. Zeeck served 20 years as an editor and reporter at The Kansas City Star.
Zeeck is a board member of the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County. He is a member of the steering committee of the Hearst Foundation Journalism Awards. He is a member of Washington’s state “Sunshine Committee,” which advises the state legislature on exemptions to the Public Records Act. He is a former president of the American Society of Newspaper Editors, Allied Daily Newspapers of Washington, and the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Association.
Zeeck received an MBA from Rockhurst University in Kansas City and a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri.
He was Chair of the Board of Regents for 2022-23 and 2023-24 terms.
