Center for Public Health Nutrition
Mission
The mission of the Center for Public Health Nutrition is to:
- Advance new knowledge to improve nutrition, food systems, and population health.
- Provide technical assistance in the translation of research into public health policy and practice.
- Inform efforts to prevent and manage obesity and non-communicable diseases at the local and state level.
- Build partnerships and collaborations with local health jurisdictions, government agencies, practitioners, and communities.
- Address the socio-economic determinants of health.
Core Services Offered
Policy assessment; consultation on food systems, access to healthy foods, and social disparities, spatial nutritional epidemiology methods and techniques, modeling of diets and health at the neighborhood level
