Frequently-Asked Questions

How do I escalate an urgent sponsored research problem?

If a funded project is at risk of losing funding, collaborators, or vendors, and you have already pursued the internal urgent request process with the central office(s) involved, the Office of Research can complete escalation of your issue. Please provide the necessary request intake details below and send them to your Dean’s Office designee. If they agree that your issue meets their criteria for escalation, they will forward to Mandy Morneault, Chief Administrative Officer in the Office of Research, to triage to the appropriate central offices.

Note: There is now a specific process for escalating subaward assignments that are “In OSP” (see Subaward Escalation below).

Subaward Escalation

If you wish to prioritize a subaward request, please contact your Dean’s Office designee.

Please do not request escalation for subaward requests that are already assigned to an OSP reviewer. This allows Dean’s Offices to provide direct input on which items they feel need to be pulled ahead of the first-in-first-assigned subaward workload.

Subrecipient Assurance Requests

  • Please do not ask for an Assurance Letter if your subaward request has been prioritized through the escalation process and is otherwise in “Assigned” or “Issued” status.
  • The subaward’s status is visible to a PI on the My Subawards page in SAGE under “Last Request Status.”
  • Complete this brief Subrecipient Assurance Request form to request an Assurance Letter for your subaward.
