Sponsor Requirements

Understand sponsor requirements so each component of your proposal is accurate, complete, and compliant. Sponsor requirements are found in the:

• Specific funding opportunity
• Sponsor’s overarching guidance or policies related to grant funding
• Federal regulations that must be followed by the sponsor and the applicant
• Sponsor website

To reduce delays, get access to sponsor systems early in your proposal development timeline.

Regardless of sponsor system roles and functionality, the  Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) usually submits applications or proposals directly in the sponsor system.

If OSP does not directly submit in a sponsor system, OSP will complete its review and approve the application, providing a signed letter of intent on the approved eGC1, the University’s electronic internal routing form used with proposals.
