Subawards
Outgoing Subawards
A subaward is a legal agreement between the UW and another organization that:
- Creates a formal, collaborative “sponsored program” relationship with the other organization
- Details roles, responsibilities, and expectations, and
- Flows down terms & conditions from the UW’s prime award to the subrecipient.
A subaward is used when a substantive portion of the programmatic work in a project is conducted at another organization.
Prepare proposals with outgoing subawards.
Incoming Subawards
An incoming subaward is when another institution (pass-through entity) receives funding and issues a subaward to the UW (subrecipient) for a portion of the project.
Review instructions for preparing and routing incoming subawards.
