NewProfs@UW: Launch your Academic Career

Welcome New Faculty!

On September 12 and 13, 2024, five central UW Offices with a mission to support faculty are sponsoring NewProfs@UW, an annual event to welcome incoming faculty and connect them to resources that support research, scholarship and career development. The UW Office of Academic Personnel, the UW Libraries, the Office of Research, CoMotion and the Office of Global Affairs invite you to learn about how they work with faculty and the resources they provide.

NewProfs@UW starts on September 12 with online sessions via Zoom to provide Office and resource overviews, including Q&A with leadership of different UW central offices. On September 13 at the Husky Union Building (HUB), room 145, we offer an in-person day of networking and cross-disciplinary panel discussions with experienced UW faculty on topics designed to support your work and professional growth. Design your own schedule by choosing the sessions of most interest to you when you register. Registration is open to full-time faculty on any UW campus who have joined in the past two years.

Registration Information

Participants can attend any subset of the sessions. Please register to indicate your interest in specific sessions (detailed in the schedule below). A registration confirmation including your customized itinerary for both days will be emailed to you.

Registration closes EOD Tuesday, September 10th.
