Upcoming: Dean’s Office Level Award Reporting

The Office of Research is creating new tools for research administrators in the Dean’s Offices to obtain unit-level award data, and we are setting up two information sessions for these research administrators and RAB participants on 11/21 (2pm – 3pm) and 12/05 (11am -12am). The sessions will be recorded and made available to those who cannot attend.

The purpose of these sessions will be to:

  • Show how to access the research award and modification/amendment data using the new spreadsheet in development (see item below).
  • Demonstrate how to apply the Office of Research’s new award methodology (counts and amounts), discuss how it differs from legacy state, and discuss any data oddities
  • Show how research administrators can help validate this data for their unit
  • Show how you can see this information by CC, CCH, sponsor, resource, amendment types, etc.

We are developing the award and modification/amendment spreadsheet and will make it available to research administrators to allow real-time access to award and modification/amendment data (status, totals, etc). This spreadsheet will be available for the first information session (11/21).

Schools/colleges can reach out to grantrpt@uw.edu now for:

  • a download of award and modification/amendment data for their school/college
  • a copy of the SQL query used to get this data (requires SQL query abilities at the school/college level)

The Office of Research team appreciates the needs for research reporting, and we will be communicating with campus about additional tools that will be developed in the future.
