Hello Huskies,
While we wait out winter’s gray and rain, I encourage you to make the most of the great indoors. There are activities every day on campus that can help you engage and recharge. Why not try:
- Taking a fitness class with UW Rec – you’ll have fun and get an exercise-induced endorphin boost.
- Getting creative at one of the HFS makerspaces.
- Going to a campus event. From concerts to lectures to exhibits, there’s always something going on!
- Checking out an exhibit at the Henry Art Gallery, the Burke Museum and the Allen Library. Admission is free with your Husky Card!
- A light therapy lamp to give you a boost. You can find them at the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center, the Health Sciences Library and Odegaard Library’s Wellness Technology Collection.
- Going outside for a few minutes every day, even when it’s rainy. Take a walk on the Burke-Gilman trail or to your favorite coffee place, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, try a UWild trip.
Finally, I hope you all saw President Cauce’s message on our mission and vision guiding us through these changing times. If you have questions about how the UW is tracking and responding to these changes, visit the provost’s webpage on federal policy updates. Most importantly, please remember that the UW remains committed to supporting our entire community while we navigate this uncertain terrain.
Sincerely,
Denzil
