Winter Resources & Opportunities (Volume 4) Husky Pawket Guide

Husky Pawket Guide From the Desk of Dr. Denzil Suite, UW Division of Student Life

Hello Huskies,

One of the best things about being a student at the UW is the abundance of programs and resources the university has to offer. One of the most challenging things is keeping up with all of them! Connecting with us on social media will help you stay in touch with what you need to know.

Follow the Student Life Instagram to see events, resources, news and fun things like student takeovers and giveaways. I recommend also following different units in Student Life to keep up with what interests you – and finding us on TikTok for campus vibes (and plenty of Dubs).

Sincerely,

Denzil

P.S. If you’re looking for information on how the UW is tracking and responding to changes in federal policies, visit the provost’s webpage on federal policy updates.

Husky Experience

Host a Spread the Love Food Drive!

The UW Food Pantry is holding its annual Spread the Love Food Drive Campaign! Partners around campus are encouraged to hold 1-3 week drives anytime through mid-March. The UW Food Drive Coordinator will supply advertising materials, donation bins, and donation drop-off and pick-up — all you have to do is advertise the event!

If your group or organization would like to hold a drive, please fill out the interest form. Individuals can also donate directly to the pantry during operating hours (Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.). Every single drive and donation goes a long way in supporting this essential resource for students and staff on campus who are experiencing food insecurity. For more information, email givefood@uw.edu.

Health and Well-Being

Husky Health Center expands services to include medication abortion

Husky Health Center (HHC) is now offering medication abortion (MAB) services to University of Washington Seattle campus students through on-site providers as part of a continuum of reproductive health care services. There are several reasons HHC has added this service:

  • Students prefer to receive reproductive health services at their on-campus student health care facility because they feel connected to the setting, trust their provider, find it more convenient and benefit from the continuity of care.
  • This initiative aligns with best practices and recommendations of professional health care organizations.
  • Having this service on campus is a popular request from students, including an ASUW resolution.

Call 206-597-5242 to schedule an appointment or visit the HHC website to learn more.
