5. Navigating UW
“Bipolar Disorder has never been depicted in a particularly positive manner and being labeled as such made me feel like I was at a huge disadvantage in terms of being able to accomplish my dreams or to fulfill my responsibilities. It has been very difficult trying to combat negative thoughts and the emergence of symptoms while also trying to keep up with my course load. To be a successful student during my academic pursuits at UW, I have had to learn to recognize and mediate my hypomanic and depressive symptoms, and also ensure that I have safety nets in place, such as accommodations with Disability Resources for Students.” -Graduate student
Preparing for finals: See UW Libraries’ extended hours starting this week, and read the Libraries’ Top 10 Tips for Finals Success to learn about resources, tools and free support available to all UW students.
