B DATA 200 Introduction to Data Studies (5) RSN
Introduces students to an understanding of foundational concepts, overview technical practices of data analysis and computational approaches as well as prepares them to navigate the sea of information. Learners will explore topics including data types, data structure, basic descriptive statistics, data visualization, machine learning, and communication. Course overlaps with: CSE 180; INFO 180; and STAT 180. Offered: AWSp.

B DATA 232 Introduction to Data Visualization (5) NSc, RSN
Introduces descriptive statistics and visual representations of quantitative data. Examines data sets using graphing and statistical software packages. Demonstrates how to present data in ways that are accurate, effective, and visually appealing.

B DATA 411 Network Analysis and Visualization (5) RSN
Network analysis is a set of mathematical and statistical tools for studying simple and complex relationships. This course covers a variety of such tools, including graph theory, small worlds, hubs, communities, and network models. The techniques covered in this course are widely applicable, including the fields of data science, social and natural sciences, humanities, public health, education, business, and communications. Prerequisite: B DATA 232.

B DATA 412 Advanced Data Visualization (5) RSN
Provides advanced trainings on visualization methods to show data in complex and compelling ways. Applies complex visualization methods to examine topics including, project management, the grammar of graphics, data types, data structure, modeling, complex and interactive data visualization, and data dashboards. Prerequisite: B DATA 232.
