Additional requirements:
Bioethics: Students must complete either 8 hours of Biomedical Research Integrity: Responsible Conduct of Research training or Bioethics 101 taught by the Biochemistry Department.
Students entering AUT/2021 or later: Present one lecture in an undergraduate microbiology course followed by a self-assessment
Students entering prior to AUT/2021: Present two lectures in an undergraduate microbiology course
Students entering AUT/2024 or later: TA one laboratory course in microbiology
Students entering prior to AUT/2024: TA two laboratory courses in microbiology
Credible passage of the Topics Exam in second year
Be first author on at least one paper related to thesis research
Completion of all work for the PhD within six years (this does not include time spent on leave)
