Status Definitions


Class Standing

Class standing is determined by the student's total number of credits, not by the number of years of college study or completion of an associate degree.

The following table lists the required credits for each class:

Freshman =   0- 44 Credits
Sophomore = 45- 89 Credits
Junior = 90-134 Credits
Senior =       135 Credits or more

Department

Your current major. The department listed here may not be the major you indicated as your area of interest on your application for admission. Many majors at the University a have admission requirements that must be completed before you are eligible to declare the major. See Choosing a Major for additional information on how to choose a major, as well as a complete listing of undergraduate majors offered at the University of Washington.

School/College

The School or College to which your major department belongs. See Colleges and Schools, Academic Departments, and Degree Programs for a complete listing of what is available at the University of Washington.

Student Number

Your student number is used for identification and verification purposes while you are a student at the University of Washington. It will benefit you to memorize it, as you will be asked for this number often.

Residency Status
