Exchanges
Exchanges are study abroad programs that allow you to enroll at a university in another country. A student from that university will come here to take your place.
UW Faculty-led Programs
UW Faculty-led Programs offer students the opportunity for you to study abroad with programs organized and taught by UW faculty.
Rome in Residence
Rome in Residence is a program that utilizes UW’s Rome Center as an extension of the main campus with courses taught by local experts.
Partner Programs
Partner Programs are approved study abroad options offered by study abroad program providers.
Direct Enrollment
Direct Enrollment Programs are approved study abroad options in which you directly enroll at another university or foreign language school. Unlike an exchange, no student from that university will come to UW to take your place.
Internships
Internships are an opportunity for you to gain professional work experience abroad.
Fieldwork, Research & Independent Learning Abroad (FRILA)
Fieldwork, Research & Independent Learning Abroad (FRILA) allow you to engage globally while maintaining student status and receiving international travel security coverage.
Unaffiliated Program Petition
If you wish to participate in a program that is NOT affiliated with UW you must petition UW Study Abroad for approval. Determine if your program qualifies.
