Activism in Women’s Sport
If 2020 has had a few bright spots, one of them was that the Seattle Storm won its fourth WNBA championship after a historic WNBA season played at the intersection of sports, business and social change. Seattle Storm Co-owner Ginny Gilder talks with Dean Ed Taylor about how joining the Yale women’s rowing team in 1975 — three years after Title IX was passed — and being part of the 1980 U.S. boycott of the Olympics has meant that sports and politics always belong together.
Presented to students on December 8, 2020.
