Provost's Task Force on the Academic Progress of Undergraduates

Data Summary

Thumbnail Sketch of Spring 2003 Students With More Than 210 Credits

One out of ten seniors (or 1,169) had more than 210 credits when beginning Spring Quarter, 2003.

These students have earned, on average, 236 credits and will earned, on average, an additional 12.4 credits during Spring 2003.

The number of students, as one would expect, having more than 210 credits increases as the academic year progresses.

Seniors having more than 210 credits are at the Bothell, Tacoma and Seattle campuses.

55% of the students earning at least 210 credits have one major only.

The students with more than 210 earned credits have a 3.31 UW course work GPA.

43% (494) of these students came to the UW from high school. The balance of these students transferred from other four year institutions (23%) or community colleges (32%).

Of those that came to us from high school, about 40% were also Running Start students.

12 majors represent slightly more than one-third (37%) of the number of students having more than 210 credits. These majors and the number of students involved are:
