ITHS/WE-REACH INNOVATION SYMPOSIUM & ITHS TRANSLATIONAL SCIENCE EXPO
- Dr. Rodney Ho (Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of Washington; Executive Director, WE-REACH; Director, TLC-ART Program; Faculty, ITHS, Fred Hutch Cancer Center and CFAR; Member, National Academy of Inventors) will focus on translation of short-acting to long-acting and targeted combinational HIV nanomedicine.
- Dr. Philip Low (Presidential Scholar for Drug Discovery and Ralph C. Corley Distinguished Professor of Chemistry – Biochemistry, Purdue University) will discuss his research in next generation targeted therapeutics.
In addition to the keynote presentations and an exciting hour of lightning talks from local biomedical entrepreneurs, the poster session will feature presentations by dozens of researchers and innovators all across the spectrum of translational science. Dr. Nora Disis (Associate Dean, Translational Science, University of Washington School of Medicine; Professor, Medicine; Member, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center; Director, Cancer Vaccine Institute; Director, Institute of Translational Health Sciences) will discuss her research in developing targeted vaccines for breast cancer.
Dr. Marco Pravetoni (Rick L. Seaver Endowed Professor in Brain Wellness; Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Department of Pharmacology; Director, Center for Medication Development for Substance Use Disorders and Overdose, Garvey Institute for Brain Health Solutions, University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, WA) will focus on his team’s work around the development of a substance abuse vaccine that targets opioids and aims to prevent addiction and relapse.
Dr. Jay Evans (Research Professor, Division of Biological Sciences; Director, Center for Translational Medicine, University of Montana) will talk about his team’s research in developing innovative vaccine technology that has the potential to revolutionize the field of immunology.
