This event kicks off a series of four weekly fireside chats in the WE-REACH Biomedical Innovation Training where industry experts, startup founders, and investors share their insights with new innovators.

Panelists in this first session are entrepreneurs and leaders who bring different perspectives to the startup experience. In this discussion you will hear advice on getting the right interviews from your customer base, key questions you will need to answer as you seek a viable business model and what some next steps might be following participation in this regional traininng.  We hope you can join us!


Week 2: Biomedical Business Models, Budgets, and Funding Sources

As new innovation teams delve into customer discovery they may find assumptions about their potential customer base changes. Business models may need adjustment as it becomes clear who the purchaser of a product or service will be and what their priorities are. There are many potential sources of funding for a business depending on the product and markets. Come hear from these entrepreneurs to discover what has proved critical in their successes so far!


Week 3: PNW Regional Resources for Biomedical Entrepreneurs

The Regional Resources panel will be discussing entrepreneur support “front doors”. Join us in exploring how entrepreneurs can identify and access life science startup resources and programs. We will also talk about our scopes of engagement and referral patterns in the ecosystem.


Week 4: Biomedical Regulatory Strategy and Product Development

Most new innovators don’t realize how much needs to be done to meet the requirements and gain clearance or approval from the FDA allowing them to market their products. Even after a product is on the market specific quality systems must be maintained. Don’t be caught off-guard, come learn about the design, testing, monitoring, and data reporting necessary to move from a bench prototype to a commercial product, whether it’s a medical device or therapeutic. Panelists will bring stories based on their experience as they highlight key FDA processes and associated product development steps.
