A direct-hire temporary hourly appointment is used to fill a temporary, hourly appointment with a classified job title. These temporary hourly appointments are subject to the hour limits and requirements of the University's temporary employment program. Temporary hourly employees may be included in a bargaining unit agreement and subject to that agreement.
Length of Temporary Assignments
Length of assignments range from as short as a few hours or a day to several months. Most opportunities are day shift, although sometimes there may be a specific need for weekend or evening shifts.
Locations We Serve
Staffing assignments may be located at one of our three campuses (Seattle, Bothell, or Tacoma), as well as downtown Seattle, Harborview Medical Center, Health Sciences Center, Northgate, Sand Point, UW Medical Center, or UWMC Roosevelt.
Benefits
University of Washington temporary (hourly-paid) staff employees whose average employment is at least half-time over a period of six consecutive months are eligible for UW employer-paid Public Employees' Benefits Board (PEBB) insurances provided they meet the definition of eligibility found in WAC 182-12-114.
