Knowledge Management in Turbulent Times
Institute for Innovation in Information Management (I3M) Spring Symposium

Wednesday, April 5, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Walker-Ames Room, Kane Hall

A one day symposium to examine issues of knowledge management in the face of current business challenges such as aging workforces, global outsourcing, and acquisitions and mergers. The symposium presents recent research undertaken between the iSchool and one of the Institute's partners, Parsons Brinckerhoff.  The study examines characteristics of Parsons Brinckerhoff's Practice Area Networks to find indicators of success in moving knowledge across the organization to meet business objectives.  More information.

Beverly Cleary Professor Inaugural Lecture
Ramona Forever: The Cleary Professor Honors Beverly Cleary's 90th Birthday
Tuesday, April 11, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Cascade Room, Haggett Hall

A celebration of Beverly Cleary’s 90th birthday and introduction of the new Beverly Cleary Visiting Professor in Children and Youth Services, Dr. Lynne McKechnie.  Dr. McKechnie will give a talk on library services for children and young adults and the public library's role in developing of children as readers.  Reception and birthday cake to follow.  The lecture and reception kick off a week of activity with local libraries on children and youth services in partnership with HarperCollins’ national “Drop Everything and Read” day on April 12.  More information.
