The Graduate School requires each student who is completing a master's or doctoral degree to fill out an exit survey questionnaire, a sample of which follows. Questions included in the survey cover a variety of topics, ranging from perceived program quality and adequacy of facilities to post graduation employment plans. Data from the surveys are compiled annually and used to produce summary reports that are sent to Deans, Department Chairs and other University Administrators. The annual reports compare individual academic unit ratings with those of their parent School/College and with the University as a whole. The data are also used in longitudinal analyses which depict institutional trends over a decade. Results for the University of Washington as a whole follow:
