Accessibility Review of Orbit High School's Home Page
- URL: http://www.ohs.edu
- Date of review: February 30, 2020
For this review I evaluated Oribit High School's home page using WAVE, a free web accessibility checker from webaim.org. WAVE only identified two accessibility problems. They are:
- The school logo image at the top of the page has no alternate text. I recommend using alt="Orbit High School logo"
- There are no HTML headings on this page. Without HTML headings, screen reader users will have a difficult time figuring out how the page is structured, and will not be able to navigate efficiently between sections of the page. Visually, the text "Welcome to Orbit High School" looks like the main heading of the page, and should therefore be marked up using the H1 tag. Also, "Today's News" and "Orbit Sprockets" appear to be second-level sub-headings, and both should therefore be marked up using H2 tags.
