Foundation for Surgical Fellowships Grant Applications Open

This is a reminder that applications for minimally invasive advanced fellowship funding through the Foundation for Surgical Fellowships will open on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014.  The surgical discipline areas that the FSF funds fellowships in include: Minimally Invasive General Surgery, HPB, Colorectal, Thoracic, Bariatric, and Bariatric-MIS Surgery. Programs can identify themselves and apply as a robotic fellowship within the same categories listed above should they meet the case requirements defined on the application.

 

Please note that this year the application will have an application fee of $100.00 per application to cover the costs of running the application process. The fee must be paid in advance to the FSF before final review and consideration of each application will proceed. Once an application is submitted as complete programs will receive an invoice for payment.

 

The application is completely online and can be accessed with the following link on or after January 21, 2014: http://www.surgicalfellowships.org/application/.  Please note that in order for the list of conference presentations and publication citations to import from the program’s application from last year, the application must be submitted with the same user name that was used last year (The username would be the email address of whoever filled in the application for your program last cycle). If this information was not kept on record at your institution and help with recovering of the user name is needed, please contact Matt Clark at Matt@surgicalfellowships.org.

 

As in years past, fellowship programs submitting an application to the FSF must be accredited by The Fellowship Council or certain fellowship programs with ACGME accreditation, which do not receive CMS funding may also be considered.
