Wow, We’re a Year Old!

FM Toastmasters is celebrating its first anniversary!
Every member has gained from their involvement – either through speaking or learning by watching and/or evaluating other members’ performances. Four of our members have earned Competent Toastmaster certification (CTM) by giving ten speeches. Congratulations to Gwendolyn DarDen, Pramilla Chand, Mai Lin Chua and Diane Cooley. This doesn’t mean that they’ve learned everything and are finished with Toastmasters. They may now select from other Toastmaster resources to help further hone their skills. They will also be able to take on the role of mentors for members who would like a little guidance.
The new year also meant an election of new officers. Welcome to:

- VP Membership: Teresa Crisostomo
- VP Public Relations: Gwendolyn DarDen, Mai Lin Chua
- Secretary: Nancy Hurja
- Treasurer: Karem Martinez
- Sergeant at Arms: Amy Liu
- Past President: Noel Bain
We started with 20 members and have remained at that number although there have been changes. A few members left the group for new jobs or to focus on important work on their desks and we recruited enough new members to keep our membership stable. We look forward to a new year and hopefully new members. Anyone who is interested is welcome to visit our meetings or talk to the officers or any Toastmaster to hear about the benefits of membership. |
